Last fall, I went to Italy for my first vacation in 20 years. That trip reignited my love of travel. I didn’t plan to fall in love, but I did: with the food, the culture, and the people. You don’t need a significant other to travel - if you want to go, just do it!
By day, I’m a lawyer for a technology company. At night, I’m a humor writer. I’ve always enjoyed traveling and having adventures, but for years I’ve been too focused on my career - first as a journalist, then as an attorney - to make time for it. I wanted to change that, so last summer, I booked a trip to Italy with Rick Steves. I had an incredible time, ate delicious food, and had more than a few adventures along the way! Most of all, it reignited my love for travel, and I’m making travel a priority. (The last time I was overseas, the Spice Girls ruled the airwaves and traveler’s checks were a thing, so times have changed a bit.)
Travel is a gift to yourself, and you don’t have to go with someone special or wait for [insert life event] to go someplace fabulous. The world is waiting, all you have to do is get on the plane.
